All communities are open to participation by any active member of MSBO. Associate members may subscribe to communities but are prohibited from posting messages or responding to the group. Associate members who wish to respond to an individual question may communicate directly with the person sending the message.

• Respectful Communication 
  Engage respectfully with other members. All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything you wouldn’t want publicly attributed to you.
  
  
• Use the Appropriate Communities 
  Post your message or documents in the correct community, discussion or libraries to ensure they are seen by the most appropriate audience.
  
  
• Be Mindful When Discussing Products, Services, Vendors or Individuals
  Ensure that comments do not violate libel, slander, or antitrust laws. Posts that may compromise procurement processes or encourage agreements regarding pricing, terms of sale, or vendor selection are strictly prohibited. The following types of posts are prohibited: product or service promotions, solicitations, or lead collection; encouragement to arrive at any agreement that that leads to price fixing; a boycott of another's business; other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade; messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.
  
  
• Respect Intellectual Property 
  Only post content you own or have permission to use. By posting material, you warrant and represent that you own the copyright with respect to such material or have received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, you grant Michigan School Business Officials and users of this site the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or material.
  
  
• Names, Trademarks, Service Marks and Logos
  The names, trademarks, service marks and logos of MSBO appearing on this site may not be used by another party in any advertising or publicity or be used to indicate MSBO sponsorship or affiliation with any service or product, without prior express written consent from MSBO. 

Community Etiquette

• Signature Tag
  Include a signature tag on all messages. At minimum, include your name, title, & school district/organization.
  
  
• Manage Your Subscriptions & Settings
  For administrative messages such as removing yourself from a group, update your settings rather than posting to the group. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the group and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.

Privacy Policy

Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of our organization except as noted below.

External Sites 
We are not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

Cookies
A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows us to recognize you each time you visit this site (personalization, etc). Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and we do not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as newsfeeds.
